A recent welfare benefits check performed by our team resulted in our largest gain to date for a clients State Pension.
A clients Pension Credit application had not been processed due to a habitual residence being required. Though liaising with the clients social worker the Pension Service issued arrears of £18,000. The team then submitted a Housing Benefit application requesting it to be backdated to the date Pension Credit was awarded, arrears of £16,275.26 issued. The client received over £34,000 in backdated benefits.
The team liaised with a local council to get a clients Housing Benefit backdated for 8 months resulting in arrears of £11, 997.76 being issued.
